The NHS Support Federation keeps track of the accelerating pace of privatisation, with disturbing evidence of a rapid decline in standards as the public sector is squeezed out by the government’s wasteful marketisation of services and funding cuts. In the past year private companies have won £3.5 billion worth of NHS contracts – two thirds (66%) of the contracts put out to tender – with a further £10 billion worth in the pipeline in the next few months.
